Spain 2009 Travel Itinerary

Day 1 (Thursday)


Fly out of Longview 7:40 am (GMT -6) - Gregg County Airport
Connect in Dallas - DFW Airport
Dallas to New York
Connect in New York - JFK Airport
New York to Barcelona, Spain
Land 8:45 am (Barcelona — Time Zone: GMT+1)

Take cab to Anna's Bed and Breakfast - Arrive at 10:45 am

Walk to Passeig de Gracia.
Head south through the block of discord.

Siesta 1:00 - 3:00 (everything closed)

Stop in at el Corte Ingles.
Continue down to la Rambla.
Eat at Mercat de la Boqueria.

(if raining - Maritime Museum)
Otherwise - take aerial car to the beach and rent a bike.

Walk to Santa Maria del Mar
Do a little shopping.

Dinner and back to the B&B.


Day2 (Friday)

Walk 6 blocks to Sagrada Familia.
Tour cathedral - Cathedral de Barcelona
Shopping and shoe museum
Look at walls left from Roman empire.

Lunch
Siesta 1:00 - 3:00 (everything closed)

Go to the water show "Font Magic"
Dinner and back to B&B


Day 3 (Saturday)

Take Hop-on-hop-off bus to see all the sites we have not seen yet.
el Palau de la Musica Catalana

Siesta 1:00 - 3:00 (everything closed)

Catch flight (4:10 or 6:00 pm) to Seville

Ejnoy a little Flamenco at Casa del la Memoria
Dinner and onto Alcantara Hotel

Day 4 (Sunday)

Go to flee market
tour The Alcazar (symbols of three religions)

Siesta 1:00 - 3:00 (everything closed)

Giralda Tower
Cathedral
Night walking in the city
Dinner and back to hotel

Day 5 (Monday)

6:00 am train to Madrid
Connecting in Madrid 8:50 am
9:20 am train to Toledo
Arrive in Toledo 9:50 am

Cathedral of Toledo
Hop-on-hop-off tour

Siesta 1:00 - 3:00 (everything closed)

Walk, shop, and relax
Dinner and back to hotel (Hotel Santa Isabel)

Day 6 (Tuesday)

Morning street market - el Martes
Pick up rental car
Slow drive through countryside to Avila (walled city)

Lunch

Continue to Segovia
drop off car and take stuff to hotel (Hotel la Casa Mudejar Hospederia)

Tour cathedrals and Roman aqueducts
Alcazar
Dinner and back to hotel

Day 7 (Wednesday)

See sites missed the day before

Late train to Madrid
Tapas Crawl
On the hotel (Hostel Acapulco)

Day 8 (Thursday)

Visit Royal Palace and Centro de Arte Reina Sofia
Hang out in Retiro Park
Shopping and sight seeing

Night - Zarzuela (Spanish Opera)
Dinner and back to hostel

Day 9 (Friday)

Free day - unplanned

Day 10 (Saturday)
